Saving money you spend on salaried processing staff is the smart thing to do today.
Also, you need forms that are not on Calyx Point. You have to generate them and they better be right the first time. If your origination documents are wrong, you literally pay the price.
In fact, in order to see if we are a match, we will ask the following questions:
~ Do you use Point Software, so you can email loan applications that you take.
~ What kind of volume do you do. Hopefully it is small.
~ Are you set up with your lenders, so our only function is processing? If our lenders are used, then, according to DRE and RESPA, you need to be licensed as a Broker and can only be compensated on "actual work done."
The SAFE Act is not going to go away. If you say in the loan origination business, there is a big learning curve for loan origination and processing. Unofficial statistics claim 70% of loan originators will be out of the business beginning January 2011. We will see what happens.
Avoid disclosure mistakes because you don't have software to create all the forms.
